World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item level upgrade must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste many resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original state, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
