The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.

Its design is a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy robot vacuum black friday than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base automatic vacuum cleaners Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to speed up cleaning.

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. Roborock has some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and alter your home map, or change the room's label.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place, emptying the bin can be accomplished easily. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful in setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the most innovative in the market, but it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

This means it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone seeking a great all-round robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price cost.

However, if you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robotic floor scrubber there are many other great choices available, including a lot of eufy models priced substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful house cleaning robot on carpets and hard floors, as well as a mopping function at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky material such as cereal.
